I’ve never told anyone this…

But up until few years ago I was convinced that at some point I would become a famous rockstar.

I mean spokesman of my generation style Rockstar!

In fact, part of me still thinks it could happen (despite not being in a band or writing an original piece of music in years)

I knew the odds were stacked against me, and hardly anyone ever makes it.

But I just thought it would happen for me… And it didn’t.

Why? I wasn’t talented enough obviously.

But mainly because I didn’t want to do the stuff that I needed to do.

I didn’t want to put in the 20,000 hours song writing.

I didn’t want to go out gigging every night.

I didn’t want to risk putting myself out there and getting criticised.

Basically I didn’t want to do the hard graft but just assumed that everything would work out for me.

And I was surprised when it didn’t.

I had the same attitude when I started teaching guitar.

I just assumed I could turn up and people would be beating at my door with fists full of money for me to teach them guitar.

And they weren’t…and I was surprised again.

I just assumed my business would be successful.

And it wasn’t.

Any of this sound familiar?

If it does, we are not alone.

We as people always think that our future ventures will all be great and successful.

Despite what has happened to us in the past or what we think would happen if it was someone else

We just know it will happen for us.

And we are surprised when it doesn’t.

And we fail because we don’t do the things we need to do to achieve our goals

Now, I’m not going to promise I will turn you into a successful guitar teacher or make you rich.

But I will show you what you need to do to give yourself a better chance at getting there .

And I’ll make sure you don’t waste time and money making the same mistakes I did.
