Facebook is here to stay and you can use it to advertise guitar lessons and get more business. One of the easiest and most effective steps you can take to advertise guitar lessons is to set up a Facebook business page. With a Facebook business page you can find new customers and interact with your existing customers, and best of all it’s free.

The guide below will show you how to set up a Facebook business page to advertise guitar lessons. Before we start you will need to have a personal account with Facebook before you can set up a business account. So if you haven’t got one yet follow the link below and get signed up first.

  • Brand or Place
  • Artist, Band or Public Figure
  • Entertainment
  • Cause or Community

Once you have done this you will be asked to choose a category and I suggest either “Local Business” or “Education”. Then you will need to enter your business address and telephone number. Once you have entered all of your information click “Get Started”

2. Add Your Basic Information

Upload Photo

Next, you will be asked to upload a photo to be used as your profile picture. This is important because this picture will be on your page and come up on everything you post. If you have a logo you can use that or a photo of you with a guitar will do, just make sure the photo relates to teaching guitar. Try and make sure that the photo looks professional, it’ll be the first thing people see and can be a good way to advertise guitar lessons.

About

In the about section you can write a few sentences about your business and how you teach guitar. This will be at the top of your Facebook page so you need to make it good. It’s essential that you include what you teach and where you teach it from. If you have any promotions like “First Lesson Free” you can include that as well to try and make you stand out. This will be the first bit of information that a potential customer will see and is a great way to advertise guitar lessons, so make sure it counts.

Facebook Web Address

You will be asked to enter a Facebook web address. This is usually facebook.com/yourbusinessname. However when you try and add the name you will be told “This page does not qualify to have a username”. This is because you need at least 25 people to like your before you can have a username. So, you can skip this bit and move on to the last part.

Facebook Ads

Facebook offer an advertising service for a cost. Facebook ads can be very useful for advertising guitar lessons but when you are starting out I recommend just concentrating on your Facebook page, so you can skip this bit.

4. Edit Page

Ok, so now we’ve got a Facebook business pageadvertise guitar lessons but it’s a bit empty so you need to start filling it in with some information. If you look at the admin panel at the top of the page you should have a tab entitled “edit page” If you click on this a drop down box will appear and you should click the top link update info.

On the update info page you can put in lots of information about your business. Remember people are likely to look at this before they think about booking a lesson with you so, try and get lots of information about your business on there. Again I would recommend having a special offer on there to persuade them to get in contact. Having special offers or promotions are always a good way to advertise guitar lessons.

5. Add a Cover Photo

A cover photo is like a large banner that goes along the top of your Facebook page. Having a good cover photo can make your page eye catching and help separate you from the competition. Try and choose a photo that gives a good impression of your business like you teaching a lesson or a photo of your very professional looking teaching studio. Photos are very powerful and choosing the right one can be very important for advertising your guitar lessons.

You can use any size photo but you only be able to view part of it. I suggest you try and get a photo that is the same dimensions and shape as the cover photo. The dimension for the cover photo are 851 x 315 pixels.

6. Post something about teaching guitar!

On Facebook you can post short statuses that your fans can see. They can also look through your old posts on your Facebook business page. This can be a great way to advertise guitar lessons and keep people informed about your business. I’d suggest posting statuses about what availability you have for lessons, any special offers you have or any achievements that your students have made.
