Took a bit of research this but I found it.

The average guitar teacher’s yearly salary in the UK is….

……………………..£14,000 ($19,800)…………………………

Then compare that to average hours worked for people who are self-employed.

The hourly rate for guitar teacher’s is £7.21!!

Just over the minimum wage.

Pretty scary, my friend.

Consider that most guitar teachers are highly skilled professionals.

They are getting paid are the same as the lowest paid unskilled jobs.

Why?

Because most guitar teachers are skilled in the wrong areas

They might be incredible guitarists.

Brilliant composers.

Be able to shred at 180bpm while reciting the Phrygian dominant scale backwards!

But is that important for guitar teachers?

Not at all.

Will that get you students?

Nope, most people won’t care.

There are only 2 things that you need to be good at…

1. Marketing – to get the new students

2. Teaching – to keep them.

 And that’s it

Pretty simple when it comes down it.

So why don’t people learn this…

Because it’s not the fun, sexy stuff that they want to do…

But it is what gets you paid.

And at the end of the day I want to be making more than the minimum wage for all the hours of work I’ve put in mastering guitar.
